A child suitcase playset with a toy car storage is a great busy box for any little traveler. There is a special story to tell about this particular child suitcase playset.

When facing an 8-hour flight with a toddler on your lap, you are always asking yourself how to keep your little one busy. Traveling by plane pushes you to find an activity to make your child stay still. At the same time, a child’s activity should not include him watching cartoons for 8 hours. For our trip last year, I created a Tidmouth shed roundhouse (train depot from Thomas & friends) from cardboard, and my son had so much fun playing with it. The only disadvantage was that it was inconvenient for the child to carry it. So, my next conception was to create a cardboard suitcase with a toy car storage. Fortunately, this portable miniature car garage was finished in just a couple of hours. It is a light and compact toy car organizer and my kid could carry it and play with his toys on the go.

Step 1.

Step 2

Inside case shell

2.1. Glue sides

2.2. Glue stoppers

2.3. Inside case must be nicely moving in and out

Step 3.

Bottom of the suitcase

Step 3.1. Glue double layer and form rounded corners

Step 3.2. Glue additional paper stripes for durability

Step 3.3. The bottom part should fit the shape of the suitcase sides

Steps 4-6.

handle and the lock

Step 4. Shape the handle.

Step 4.1. Glue double ends and layer paper on top of the handle and make it curved.

Step 5. Glue stripes to the bottom part only.

Step 6. Glue felt inside from center to sides.

Steps 7-8.

Step 7. Paint the inside side of the outside case shell and glue felt as garage slots.

Step 8. Make parking slots out of felt straps.
